My ideas are scattered. I am told to write them down, record them in a tangible place, organization is key.
Time passes. More ideas come.
I acquire more blank pages to hold all this nonsense. Journals of all shapes, sizes, colors, leathers, auras, and line widths are purchased. Surely that will solve my problem of never following through on developing my concepts. My beautiful, vague, pre-pubescent concepts who will never grow into apathetic, pot-smoking ideas who will never mature into tax-paying, self-actualized citizens of storydom.
Better buy more sticky notes. Yes, if they’re on the walls, I won’t be able to ignore them.
Time passes. The ideas pour in, relentlessly. Taunting me with half-baked worlds and endlessly trolling pinterest for inspiration. Just a bump. It’s important to keep the juices flowing.
Note-taking apps, yes. Excellent, scatter the ideas far and wide. A digital format will surely make it easier to expand upon these little nuggets of brilliance. They are but kernels of creation. Apply heat for 2-2:30 minutes to pop thoroughly. Good. Smells like a breakthrough.
Time passes. The juices, once flowing and productive, have become a laminar flow of pure shit. The microwave is on fire and I’ve combined so many different genres so many different times what do you mean “lovecraftian sci-fi treasure hunters” isn’t a story unto itself?
Time STOPS. I INVOKE THE NAME OF THE FORGOTTEN GOD. THE HALF-MOTIVATED GUARDIAN OF DISCARDED CONCEPTS. MY WORKS ARE A COLLECTIVE AND REGARDLESS OF THEIR PROGRESS OR METHOD OF STORAGE THEY DESERVE MY LOVE AND ATTENTION NO MATTER HOW INFREQUENT OR FLEETING.
THEY SHALL HENCEFORTH BE CONSIDERED AS ONE CURSED COMPENDIUM. THE TOME OF NEGLECTED IDEAS. THE DIRECTORY OF BOTH DILLIES AND DALLIES. THE ALMANAC FOR AVOIDANCE. THE TEXTS WHICH HOLD ALL THAT IS SILLY AND ABANDONED. THE ANTI-PROJECT.
THE PROCRASTINOMICON.

Brian…what have you done…the procrastinomicon is too powerful for one man! it’s siphoning away my will to create!
